Chrome Extension: Desmos (graphing calculator)

A useful Chrome extension that I have found is Desmos.  This is a graphing calculator that students can access for free, rather than buying their own calculator.  It has the basic graphing features for linear, quadratic and exponential functions.  Students (and teachers) may need to experiment with it as it has some differences from Texas Instruments products that we use in class.

iPad App: Explain Everything

My favorite new app is "Explain Everything."  I use this app on my iPad.  This app allows you to create videos and upload them to YouTube or GoogleDocs and then link them for students to use.  For example, I use Google Slides daily for my class instruction in Algebra class.  I am then able to export my Google Slides directly into Explain Everything.  Once I open the Explain Everything app, I can scroll through my slides while recording a video.  I am also able to write on my iPad screen and solve the problems on my slides as I go along.  The finished product is a video with audio explanations, visuals of problems being solved, while using the exact class examples from that day's lesson.  I then post this video for my students to access on Canvas.  Any students who need a re-teach of a concept or who were absent that day can have quick access to what was covered that day in class.
